CORE VALUES

Here's What We Value as a Church

The core values of any organization reflects who it is and what it believes.

Gospel Sufficiency

The gospel changes everything. We can’t fix ourselves or our world. The gospel is the solution to our spiritual problems and our societal ones.

Life Change

We are what we treasure, so the only way to change us deeply is to change what we worship. Worshiping Jesus congregationally and individually transforms us at our core.

Public Faith

The beauty of Jesus compels us to share him. We do this by cultivating friendships with non-Christians and being hospitable.

Magnetic Community

Jesus creates a new community. Our relationships with one another change from consumer to family member. We live out changed lives by opening our homes and hearts to people outside our immediate family and tribe.

CHARACTERISTICS

Our Church Culture

Though every church shares the essentials of the Christian faith in common, each local church has distinct characteristics, a culture.

Joyful
Joy is a good feeling in the soul produced by the Holy Spirit as he makes us see and savor the glory of Christ in the Word and the world. Our God is alive so let us rejoice!
Welcoming
We want to welcome others as Jesus has welcomed us. Like Jesus may we set aside ourselves so others feel welcomed in our midst.
Ordinary
We're not chasing the next big thing; we're faithfully carrying on what Christians have done for 2,000 years—worshiping, praying, fellowshipping, growing, and serving God together.

BELIEFS

Our Church's Statement of Faith

While the Bible is our only infallible rule of faith and practice, we are also committed—and accountable—to a specific statement of faith that represents a summary of the teaching of Holy Scripture.

There is One True and Living God, who eternally exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are equal in every divine perfection and who execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, who became human without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He was sent by the Father to reveal God and redeem sinful humanity. We believe in His sinless life, substitutionary, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, and constant intercession for His people.

The Holy Spirit works progressively to transform genuine believers more and more into the image of Christ. His work is carried on in our hearts through such appointed means as the study of Scripture, prayer, worship, and fellowship with other believers. The Holy Spirit also empowers believers for Christian witness and service while giving gifts for the building up of the body of Christ, the church.

We believe that humanity was originally created in the image of God, righteous and without sin, but through sin incurred physical and spiritual death. As a result, all people are separated from God by their sin and are without hope apart from salvation in Christ.

The Gospel is the good news of God’s saving actions towards sinners through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the eternal son of God, took on human nature, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death for sinners, and rose from the dead.

Salvation is a gift that comes only by God’s grace, from the miracle of regeneration through faith in Jesus Christ. Anyone who turns from their sin and trusts in Jesus Christ receives forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.
